ABOUT THE CITY

Ouro Fino is a typical appointment of former miners to classify the gold of good quality, one that after melted, resulted in a high carat metal.

This piece of land has generated intense dispute when the separation between the states of Minas Gerais and São Paulo.

In 1913 the city hosted the famous agreement that guided the “coffee with milk policy” when representatives of the São Paulo and Minas Gerais Republican Party agreed to support the same candidates to run for president.

Thus, the power was interspersed once a member of the mineira oligarchy and again by a member of the Paulista oligarchy
