ABOUT THE CITY
Caconde, distant 290 km from São Paulo City, in the northeastern part of the state, has been known as a receptive pole of tourists, coming to be considered one of the 30 most beautiful small cities in Brazil. Imbedded in the western slope of the Mantiqueira, it offers besides one of the mildest climates of the state, a rugged terrain with many forests, waterfalls, rivers, lakes and streams, that form incomparable natural beauties, fills the eyes and who knows them, fall in love.
With an unparalleled importance in its region, Caconde stands out not only for its natural beauties, but also for its historical, cultural and religious riches that are currently manifested in several events such as: Festviola, Nations Party, Queima do Alho and Carnival considered one of the best in the interior of São Paulo, besides, of course, the religious activities carried out by the Basilica of Nossa Senhora da Conceição.
Having agriculture as its main economic source, it specialized in producing quality coffee, Caconde prides itself on having important preserved areas, presenting as witness a vast wild fauna and a vegetation characterized as Tropical Rainforest.
In addition to Agriculture, Tourism has become an important source of income, with several touristic attractions: Praça da Matriz, Praça do Rosário, AquARIUM, Praça do Mirante, Usina Velha, Santa Quitéria Waterfall and Prainha (municipal park located on the banks of the Caconde Dam is an excellent meeting point for a happy hour, boat trips, jetsky, as well as an excellent starting point for a good fishery).
Caconde also counts on a respectable tourist infrastructure, having beautiful and cozy inns and excellent restaurants, which mix the regional food (Caipira) with the influences from Minas Gerais and Italy, which are very present in their dishes.
With all this attractives, Caconde has been highlighted by the diversity of its attractions, and, of course, Adventures Tourism with activities such as: Trekking, Horse Riding, Rappelling, Tyrolean, Cascading, Bóia-Cross and Rafting in Rio Pardo with rapids ranging from levels I to V and ideal flow of water throughout the year, make Caconde a reference for adventurers from all over Brazil and even from abroad.
