Mining town located in the micro region of Pocos de Caldas.
Until 1888 it was a district of Sao Sebastiao do Jaguari, connected to the city of Caldas.
He dismembered with Caracol place name, name of a mountain range that frames the city. Came to be called Andradas in honor of Antonio Carlos Ribeiro de Andrada, born in Barbacena-MG, belonging to a family of greatest tradition in Brazilian politics, elected governor of Minas Gerais in 1926.
